Jamie is an Associate Editor of the Australasian Emergency Nursing Journal, holding disaster portfolio, and peer-reviews for a number of national and international journals relating to disaster, emergency and primary health care.

Jamie's research focuses on nurses' willingness, preparedness, role and experience of disasters. Additionally, Jamie has research interests in the delivery of health care, research and evaluation of mass gathering (or major public event).

Paula began practising IP and business law in the Silicon Valley in 1990. Paula was General Counsel to high tech companies in Portland Oregon before working with Motorola for seven years while living in France. 

Since arriving in Australia in 2010, Paula realised that Australia has a yearly IP deficit of $3.25B because Australians do not patent.

Paula's passion is to promote the worldwide knowledge-based capital economy in Australia, which she does by writing and teaching how to capture innovation as transferable assets, in particular patents.

IMG 04631In celebration of the International Day of People with Disability, Lighthouse hosted a workshop on Wednesday 3 December 2014 to celebrate and promote the benefits of inclusion and success of people with a variety of challenges in the fields of entrepreneurship and business.

The Embracing Diversity workshop encouraged the sharing of business knowledge and experience as well as raised awareness among members of the ACT community of the business potential and employability of people with disabilities.

Guest speakers were asked to contribute to the workshop by giving insight into their disability or health condition, how it has impacted their lives and how this has all played a role in their approach to business.
